All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, says late General Sani Abacha, Nigeria’s most hated supreme military ruler, was far better than former President Olusegun Obasanjo in handling state matters.
Oshiomhole stated this on Tuesday while reacting to the statement credited to Obasanjo that President Muhammadu Buhari is a dictator.
Lambasting the former president over attacks on President Buhari, the APC National Chairman described Obasanjo as a worse dictator than the late military head of state, General Sani Abacha.
The APC chairman stated this during an exclusive Interview with Channels TV’s Seun Okinbaloyo, in response to Obasanjo’s recent attack on Buhari.
Obasanjo had recently said that Buhari is returning Nigeria to the Abacha era, alleging that what the President has supposedly subjected the country to were lessons he learnt from Abacha.
But Oshiomhole said during the interview, “Obasanjo can’t look me in the eyes and say those things, he is a worse dictator, he was worse than Abacha.”
Oshiomhole further argued that Obasanjo ruled for eight years and failed to fix Nigeria while people are expecting Buhari to fix Nigeria in three and half years.
He also spoke on the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, by President Buhari.
On that issue he said, “You can’t fight corruption selectively, Onnoghen should spare the judiciary the trauma.”
According to Oshiomhole, there is no way Nigeria’s democracy can be stable “if the rules are only made for the poor”.
